—Safety and decisions
What moves the price of electrical work
Two jobs that look the same can cost very differently. The difference is usually in access, finishing and testing.
The visible part of electrical work — a new socket, a light fitting — is often a small share of the effort. Getting a cable to the right place through finished walls or ceilings, making good afterwards, and testing the circuit can take far longer. Apartment buildings add approvals and access time; villas add distance and outdoor routes.
Safety and decision guides are advice for the reader. They describe practice, not a service level.
Materials vary: fittings, cable sizes and protective devices. Fault-finding is priced differently from installation, because the time to find an intermittent fault is unknown at the start. A clear quote separates labour, materials, making good and testing.
