Electrical snagging at handover

Handover is the moment the developer is still responsible. Electrical snags found then are easier to have fixed.

New properties sometimes have sockets that do not work, switches controlling the wrong lights, missing labels at the board, outdoor lights not connected, or fittings loose. Snagging — systematically checking each point — finds them while the developer’s contractor is still on site.

Safety and decision guides are advice for the reader. They describe practice, not a service level.

A methodical walk-through with a simple plug-in tester and a lamp covers sockets and lights. The board is checked for labels and RCD test results. Outdoor circuits, doorbells, gate supplies and AC isolators are included. Findings are recorded with photos for the developer.
